This lecture details the early experience of the use of a cardiac occlusion device to plug the gastrotomy after completion of a NOTES procedure. A full description of this novel, simple technique to obtain secure closure of the stomach is provided as well as the results of a long-term animal study testing its feasibility and effectiveness.
