Bladder neck preservation: interest and limits

The purpose of bladder neck preservation (BNP) allows to perform a more conservative prostatectomy, to simplify the anastomosis as well as to favor immediate functional results. But positive biopsies on the base and MRI suspicion of basal tumor extension are well established contraindications for BNP.
