This lecture provides a description of an advanced flexible endoscope that has been designed to overcome some of the limitations associated with standard instruments and is tailored for usage in NOTES procedures. The initial clinical experience with the instrument in the performance of a cholecystectomy in a human (done under laparoscopic surveillance) is detailed.
