Esophageal atresia surgery in children
Authors
Abstract
Esophageal atresia is a congenital defect that occurs in about 1 out of 4,000 births. It occurs equally among male and female infants and has been associated with prematurity. There are no other notable associations. Thoracoscopic repair has advanced rapidly in recent years. The results are encouraging and positive. In this lecture, Dr. Gordon MacKinlay presents the technique and his personal experience in the United Kingdom.
