Abstract
Diverticular disease is ranked as the fifth most important gastrointestinal disease worldwide. Five percent of people over 60 years of age and 20% of all patients with diverticulosis develop overt symptomatology with potential serious sequelae.
In this lecture, Dr. Antonello Forgione presents the results of a prospective longitudinal cohort study evaluating the quality of life, sexual and urinary function after elective laparoscopic sigmoid resection for diverticular disease.
