Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumors [IMFT] are rare, distinct clinicopathological entities characterized by a dense inflammatory cell component amidst myofibroblastic proliferation. IMFT of the gastrointestinal tract are extremely rare and there have been only three confirmed cases of involvement of the appendix. We present the management of one such tumor presenting as an acute appendicitis in a young adult. The following presentation highlights the laparoscopic management of such masses.
