Is there a technical solution to help improve immediate continence following laparoscopic radical prostatectomy?

Temporary incontinence remains one of the major drawbacks and disadvantages following laparoscopic prostate surgery. Four surgical technical key steps may favor a rapid return of early continence: preservation of the bladder neck, puboprostatic ligament sparing, anterior suspension of the urethral sphincter complex and the recreation of the posterior musculofascial plate. No technique is better than another, but the surgeon’s experience is favorable for good outcome.

Abstract
Temporary incontinence remains one of the major drawbacks and disadvantages following laparoscopic prostate surgery.
Four surgical technical key steps may favor a rapid return of early continence: preservation of the bladder neck, puboprostatic ligament sparing, anterior suspension of the urethral sphincter complex and the recreation of the posterior musculofascial plate.
No technique is better than another, but the surgeon’s experience is favorable for good outcome.
