This explains the rationale underlying dual or combined access NOTES procedure nd demonstrates how this approach may be used for cholecystectomy and nephrectomy (in animal models). It also gives consideration to whether NOTES will confer additional advantages to the patient by allowing operation via a low-pressure pneumoperitoneum.
