Part 1. Imaging in endocrine surgery

Minimally invasive endocrine surgery has undergone a rapid development over the last decade. This was made possible, in part, by the tremendous improvement in medical imaging, which allowed for better localization and staging of various endocrine tumors. In this lecture, Prof. JA van Heerden reviews the current role of medical imaging in endocrine surgery and the impact it has made in minimally invasive surgery.
