Transvaginal retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy by NOTES in a pig model

Retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy is a staging and prognostic procedure for many gynaecologic and urologic neoplasms. Its drawback is the high associated morbidity. This presentation summarizes our protocol for retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy using a transvaginal NOTES technique in a porcine model. Also, it shows insights of possible human application.
