Contrast-enhanced endoscopic ultrasonography (CE-EUS) was introduced in the early 1990s. After the advent of the first-generation contrast agent, high-frequency (12MHz) EUS brought about the enhancement of EUS images in the diagnosis of pancreatico-biliary diseases, upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, and submucosal tumors. In this lecture, Dr. Bories presents the different application of this technique.
