In this key lecture, Dr. Cardoso Ramos presents the main principles to perform a safe and effective gastrojejunostomy in Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB). He briefly describes the history of RYGB with the basic techniques for gastrojejunostomies (GJ), VBG, banded vs. Non-banded RYGB. He also highlights studies determining the methods of the ideal pouch size and GJ, as well as technical aspects of sleeve gastrectomies (SG) with case series.
