Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) can be more and more considered a public health problem, especially due to its high incidence and quality of life (QoL) impact. In this comprehensive lecture, a step-by-step revision through POP preoperative work-up is made, taking into account the symptomatology, impact on quality of life, physical examination, and complementary tools. POP and occult stress urinary incontinence represent a ”hot topic”, which is also discussed.
