Ectopic pregnancy occurs in 2% of all pregnancies, with a great majority occurring in the uterine tube. Although laparoscopic salpingectomy is the gold standard technique, medical treatment can be of equal efficacy in selected patients. Surgical treatment can be either conservative (salpingostomy) or radical (salpingectomy); however, the surgical treatment modality does not affect the reproductive outcome.
