Some of the more common and serious surgical complications encountered by colorectal surgeons are enterocutaneous fistulas, anastomotic leaks and strictures, injuries to genitourinary structures, small bowel obstruction, pelvic bleeding, and wound infections. In this key lecture, Dr. Palanivelu outlines some of these complications.
