In this thoroughly comprehensive lecture, Professor Arnaud Wattiez explains the importance of anatomical landmarks essential to develop the pelvic medial and lateral spaces. The medial spaces have been extensively used in benign gynecological conditions whereas the lateral spaces are more used for oncologic procedures. Nevertheless, and more and more, the lateral spaces, and especially the medial paravesical fossa and Okabayashi’s spaces, are indispensable to treat deep infiltrating endometriosis.
