Laparoscopic treatment of small bowel obstruction in an elderly female patient: a succinct surgical procedure with reduced invasiveness

The progressive patient lifespan extension has a direct repercussion on our treatment strategy in such a way that surgical decisions are often complex to make. Indeed, older patients present many comorbidities and often major surgical histories. It is therefore crucial to select the best therapeutic approach, at the timeliest moment for this patient. Here, we describe the case of an elderly female patient presenting with an obstructive syndrome which was initially managed medically and the evolution of which indicated the use of surgery.
