The management of Zenker’s diverticula has evolved over the last few years. The transoral approach using a rigid diverticuloscope was recently challenged with the advent of flexible endoscopy, which is not limited by the “anatomical” characteristics of the patient (e.g., the nape’s rigidity or the opening of the mouth). Clinical experience has allowed to progressively establish the indications of each technique, and notably based on the size of the diverticulum. In this video, we present the treatment of a 5cm diverticulum for which the transoral stapling technique is generally recommended.
